| About Me | Michele has been counsel for legislative committees in the State of Minnesota and was Executive Director of a Minnesota non-profit, International Health Relief. She was counsel for the Minnesota Public Interest Group and worked on the longest administrative hearing ever in Minnesota involving the issue of acid rain and carbon dioxide pollution. She was a lobbyist for the Minnesota Medical Association and staffed a nationally recognized study to control health care costs. Michele served as counsel and report editor of a major study of prisons. This effort led to major changes and improvements in the Minnesota prison system. She was plaintiff’s counsel in the areas of product’s liability and environmental law at law firms in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Hyannis, Massachusetts. In 1992 she received the Massachusetts Bar Association Community Service Award for her efforts in expanding pro bono services. After moving to California is 1993 she became CEO and General Counsel for the James R. Gary & Company real estate company. In 1994 the Company received the United States Chamber of Commerce Blue Chip Enterprise Initiative Award. The Company was also selected as the #1 Woman Owned Business in Los Angeles County in 1995 and 1996. For almost 9 years, she was Director of Public Services for the San Fernando Valley Bar Association and continues as a consultant to the organization. Some of her past and present volunteer activities include serving as President and now Board Member for the domestic violence program, Haven Hills.
