| About Me | Went to Warren County Community College for a year, joined the Navy, went to boot camp near Chicago, Ill. Then went to the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Md. to study news writing, photography, public affairs and broadcast journalism, all the tools necessary to be a military journalist. I was stationed in Norfolk, Va. for 10 years, was assigned to the Fleet Hometown News Center, pre-commissioned the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), Naval Station Norfolk Public Affairs Office and the USS Ashland (LSD 48). While assigned to the Ashland, I completed a six-month deployment where we patrolled the oil terminals off the coast of Iraq and Iran and also performed amphibious operations to Djibouti, Africa. While participating in a military exercise in Al Aquaba, Jordan, our ship was fired at by rockets. Thank goodness they missed us, but we got the combat action ribbon for the event. We also visited Malta; Bahrain; Dubai; Crete, Greece and Rota, Spain in addition to Jordan. After completing my tour on Ashland, I now serve at the Commander, Submarine Force Pacific Fleet Public Affairs Office in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. In addition to my military career, I found the time to get married in March, 1996 to Stacy Clark from Leavenworth, Ks., and have two daughters, Hayley, soon to be seven and Madeline, age five.
