GENEVA, Ill. — Robert “Bob” P. Reich Sr., formerly of Warren, died at Bria Skilled Nursing and Rehab center in Geneva, Ill., of complications from Alzheimer’s disease on Dec. 20, 2020.

He was born on Aug. 8, 1938, in Pittsburgh, to Cyril and Constance Keldusis Reich.

Bob, known as “Bucky” by most of his friends, began his teaching career at Warren G. Harding High School, where he also coached the girls basketball team. Later, he served as vice principal at Warren Western Reserve High School and Warren G. Harding High School, before retiring as principal of East Junior High. Bob met his wife of 54 years, Mary Bowles Reich, after Mass at St. Mary Church. He was a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus and an active member of St. Pius Church before its closing followed by St. John Paul II Parish.

He leaves behind his wife, Mary; two sons, Bob Jr. (Carrie) and David (Jane); and daughter, Jennifer Reich; his sister, Judy O’Conner of Pittsburgh; and seven grandchildren, Ryan, Colin, Owen, Isabella, Nick, Olivia and Frankie.

A Mass will be held at a later date in Warren to honor his memory. His final resting place will be All Souls Cemetery.

” A lifelong educator, he mentored many kids, and brought a sense of purpose, to everything he did. A husband, dad, and grandpa, his family brought delight, and he took pride in his chili, that he made for chilly nights. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was a Pittsburgh fan for life, although he made his way to Warren, Where he met his future wife. And through the good and hard times, his faith was at his core, always serving his community, with an open heart and door. So while Alzheimer’s robbed his mind, our memories remain, and we know he’s home with God now, free of suffering and pain.”
