About Me	Married a "grocery" Byrd (remember the old Byrd Food Stores). Raised two sons--Matthew (WHS class of 2002) and Nathan (WHS class of 2005). Matthew has a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from Wake Forest. Nathan is a GTCC graduate with a degree in John Deere technology and works at the local dealership, Quality Equipment (formerly Byrd Lawn & Garden--yeah, same family as grocery). We stay busy being involved in many activities with the sons, church activities, home Bible study, travel, Feed the Hunger (formerly New Directions) ministry, and whatever else comes our way. I was a substitute teacher in the ABSS system until the last son graduated. Nathan & I still help out with home football games on Friday night hauling equipment. You can find me around ...(read more)
