About Me	Barry Reaves is a seasoned Diversity Practitioner with more than 18 years of experience. In his last role with BPDA, He was charged with development and oversight of the Boston Planning and Development Agency, He was charged with leading racial equity and diversity priorities while working to establish collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and fostered a more inclusive, equitable, welcoming, supportive, and diverse agency. He increased brand awareness through sponsorships, volunteerism, media placement, and established a partnership to bring Mobile Makers to Boston and several other strategic partnerships. Barry is a graduate of the University of Louisville and the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute which is the premiere Department of Defense school in Diversity and Inclusion Equal opportunity and equal employment opportunity training, education, and research Prior to his role at the BPDA, Reaves served as Assistant Director of Investigations and Training for the City of Boston, and previously managed the Discrimination Complaints Program for the United States Naval Air Systems Command. He has served in various roles for the U.S. Army, including as an Equal Opportunity Advisor. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving on Active Duty for 18 years and has a deep background in diverse leadership development, diversity and inclusion programming, analytics, and effectiveness.
