About	Larry E. Harper, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in Walsh, Colorado, on May 8th, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Stella, Missouri, on February 26th, 1949, the son of Richard and Ylene Harper of Walsh, Colorado. Larry was an accomplished athlete, having played football at Panhandle State University after graduating from Walsh High School. His love of country led him to volunteer for the Army during the Vietnam War. Larry was awarded four bronze stars (two of them with Valor) for his heroic military service. After returning home to Colorado from serving his country, he went to college and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado. He moved back to Walsh after living in Greeley and started a family with the births of his son Brandon, and daughter, Charity. He married the love of his life Judy in 1988. Larry was a successful businessman and community leader. He co-founded Walsh Auto. He worked as the President of Colorado State Bank, eventually becoming a co-owner. Larry also opened Richards Country Store and Ag Services and continued expanding and running the multi-generational Harper family farm started by his father, Richard. Larry also loved serving the community of Walsh. While living in Walsh, he served as the Mayor and volunteered for many years as a Firefighter and Ambulance driver for Walsh Fire & EMS. Larry loved staying busy and could not sit still for too long. Larry's favorite things to do were shooting & fishing with his family, spending time in the mountains with his friends in Creede, watching the Denver Broncos, having beers with family & friends, organizing reunions and spending time with his Army Brothers, serving his community, driving tractor, being onery, and bringing people together for a good time. Throughout his life, Larry was known for his kindness, generosity, unwavering commitment to his country, family, and community, business acumen, and many great pranks and jokes. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Larry is survived by his wife of 34 years, Judy; his sisters Mari Lee and Sherri, his children, Mitzi, Brandon, Melissa, and Charity; and his seven grandchildren, Phalysha, Cody, Trace, Treven, Jered, Lillian, and Kyler and three great-grandchildren, Kagen, Keely and Kynlee.
