About Robert Simons, (Si) age 76, of Beach Lake, PA passed away on April 20, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, son, grandfather, uncle, cousin, friend, and coach.
Robert was born on December 18, 1948 to the late Ruth (Jackson) Simons and the late Earl Simons. He graduated from Honesdale High School, and Bloomsburg University where he earned a degree in education, while playing on one of the first Bloomsburg Golf Teams. After college, he began his teaching and coaching career in the Wallenpaupack School District where he met his wife, Ann Marie (Gilhool) Simons.
In addition to teaching 6th grade and serving as a disciplinarian, Si also enjoyed coaching girls basketball and Varsity golf where he led numerous athletes to state, regional, and district championships. Si took pride in his 54 year golf coaching career. He liked to instill life lessons in his former athletes, while still teaching them to have a competitive edge. He always wanted his players to have goals and be the best they could be on and off the course.

Robert was also a member of the Wayne County Hall of Fame Committee, Anthracite Golf Association, and The Board of Directors of the Honesdale Golf Club. He spent much of his lifetime at the Honesdale Golf Club golfing himself, or giving lessons to others.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Bridget Donovan and husband, Scott; and his grandchildren, Ryan and Emma Donovan.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Marie, parents, Earl and Ruth Simons, as well as his father in law, Harold Gilhool.
A visitation will be held at the Hessling Murray Funeral Home at 428 Main Street in Honesdale on Wednesday April 23rd from 4:00-7:00.
A Funeral Blessing will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Church on Thursday, April 24th at 10:00 am
