About Roy Wade Tigue, age 50, a lifelong resident of Hawley passed away following a courageous battle against cancer on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg.
Born August 14, 1974, Roy was the son of Janet Marie (Erhardt) Tigue of Hawley and the late Francis Thomas Tigue. He was a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School, Class of 1992.
As a child Roy loved to participate in all kinds of adventures, from hunting with his dad, brothers and friends to constantly using his God-given gifts in creating absolutely amazingly joyful memories. This gift allowed those around him to enjoy experiences like using the canal across from his childhood home as an ice hockey arena or as a fun paint ball battle ground competition zone. Along with many years of hitting the woods to find existing trails or carve out new ones on dirt bikes and quads. Roy was constantly creating new exciting fun for all around him.
His greatest talent was his ability to connect with almost anyone. As kids Roy would plan and organize some of the most amazing celebrations. Opening his vast network of friends to gain access to supplies and fun activities along with lots of people to attend these events. The pure talent he possessed in connecting with people, becoming friends with them and grow that friendship into a win for all as kids is his greatest legacy.
Roy enjoyed being outdoors in nature, worked as an arborist and greatly enjoyed the challenges of the tree industry. Considered by his younger brother Adam to be the best tree guy around. his ability to handle extremely challenging situations with ease and calm was his biggest working strength. Tackling the most challenging and dangerous jobs with total confidence while staying completely in control.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sons: Matthew Joseph Lange, Roy Brett Tigue Jr., and Robert Wayne Tigue, all of Hawley; two sisters: Lynnita Tigue-Petroski and Sarah Elizabeth Tigue, both of Hawley; five brothers: Wayne Thomas Tigue of Paupack, Patrick Adam Tigue of Hawley, Thomas Charles Tigue of Tafton, William Joseph Tigue of Hawley, and Bradley William Tigue of Hawley; his former partner and lifelong friend: Jessica Black; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday, October 25, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Teeters' Funeral Chapel, Inc., 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Gates Cemetery, Hawley, following the funeral.
