Dave was one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. He was also perhaps one of the most talented. I met him when I started working/taking the class for the Western High School paper.

Dave was Editor-in-Chief for the 1979-1980 school year and he turned the paper from a newspaper format to a newsmagazine format. It worked brilliantly.

Also, I have to say that he was more than indulgent. Yes, I was a bit of a nerd and I wrote a piece on inflation. He actually printed it - in a high school paper! - and headlined the issue, "Why You Are Getting Less For Your Money." Not sure how many of my classmates read it, but to this day I have kept a copy.

Dave was popular and and yet as generous to his fellow students as can be.

Not sure when he died - I only heard that he had. (Though I do recall visiting him while he was in college and he was not - even then - looking so good.)

He was a great guy and is, I am sure, sorely missed by his family and all who stayed in touch with him.
