Carl's parents moved the family to Wallace when he was a high school freshman. He quickly made friends. After graduation, he served in US Army Missile Division. He met his bride Eleanor while serving in Rhode Island and brought her back to the beautiful Silver Valley. He made his career at Britt's Garden Spot IGA, and continued on at the store when the Stein Bros purchased it. Besides his passionate dedication to family, he was a fisherman at heart.
