| About | Lynn Richard Ausherman September 30, 1948 — March 15, 2026 Thurmont Lynn Richard Ausherman, 77, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Frederick Health Hospital. He was the loving husband of Ruth Ausherman. They were married for 49 years. Born on September 30, 1948, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Chester Ausherman and Lillian (Bittinger) Ausherman. Lynn was involved in farming all his life. He was a self-employed farmer and was active in many agriculture organizations. In his early years, he was an active member of the Walkersville 4-H Club and Walkersville FFA, of which he held several offices in both organizations. Lynn excelled in public speaking, showed cows at the Great Frederick Fair, was in the WHS Marching Band, and was a member of Frederick Church of the Brethren. He would later become a 4-H club leader, as well as serve as secretary and treasurer for the Frederick County Holstein Association. Following his career in farming, he worked for the Frederick News Post as a paper carrier for 30 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Tammy Faulkner, and Patti Hubbard (Jeff); grandchildren, Ashley Wiles (Jesse), Bradley Faulkner, Jeffrey Hubbard (Cassidy), Jonathan Hubbard (Kylie), Joshua Hubbard (Paige), and Joseph Hubbard (Maddie); great-grandchildren, Kodi, Lillian, and Benjamin Holt, and Riley Faulkner; two sisters, Ruth Hubbard and Barbara Lochstamphfor (Donald); and many additional family members and friends. He was predeceased by a son, Frankie Favorite; a brother, Charles Ausherman; and brother-in-law, Kenny Hubbard. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 104 East Main Street in Thurmont, with funeral services to begin at 12 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Tim May. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at StaufferFuneralHome.com. If I'm not mistaken, Lynn was also Eliza Doolittle's father in the Senior Class play Pygmillion. He did an outstanding job and got to the church on time. Lynn was a good natured guy and an outstanding person. RIP Prof. Higgins
