About	Doris Jean Flanigan, age 87, of Rocky Ridge, died Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at her home. Born January 30, 1938 in Walkersville, she was the daughter of the late Ralph B. Zimmerman and Kathleen Hedges Zimmerman. She was the wife of Arthur A. Flanigan Jr. who died in 2020. She was a 1956 graduate of Walkersville High School, then stayed home to care for her family. After her children had grown, she went to work alongside her husband at Double A Auction Company, as well as many other auction companies over the years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, puzzles, loved Christmas and spending time with her family; being a mom was all she ever wanted to be. Surviving are children, Dwayne Flanigan and wife Carol of Rocky Ridge, Mark Flanigan of Carroll Valley, PA, Brenda Miller and fiance Steve Strait of Fayetteville, PA and Michele Martin and husband Dave of Littlestown, PA; nine grandchildren, Sharon Reifsnider and Bob, Jason Flanigan and Holly, Stacey Flanigan, Marcus Flanigan, Brittany Miller, Jeanette Pittenger, and Gwen, Jillian and Danica Martin; three great-grandchildren, Abby and Chelsea Reifsnider and Milla Jean Pittenger. She was predeceased by stillborn son Gary Neal Flanigan, brother R. Daniel Zimmerman and daughter-in-law Lori Flanigan. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 17, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
