Paul Douglas Powell, age 68, of Frederick, died Sunday, March 2, 2025 at his home. Born January 12, 1957 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Ethel M. Potts and stepfather Denver L. Potts. He was the husband of Shryl Ann Hart Powell, who died in 2016.
He was a 1975 graduate of Walkersville High School and then went to work for MD Electric in Silver Spring. He then worked for Mastertruck, building telephone trucks in Frederick, Frederick Glass Shop and retired from Frederick Housing Authority as a maintenance worker after 24 years. He was a member of Oak Hill Church of God in his teenage years, attending with family. He enjoyed restoring cars, especially Novas and Cameros, attending car shows, flea markets, league bowling, spending time with friends, neighbors and shooting pool.
Surviving are half-sister Malinda Shook of Mt. Pleasant, niece Cathy Boyd and husband Frank of Taneytown, great niece Angela LaGrange and husband Adam of Gilbert, Arizona and nephew Donald Shook of Mt. Pleasant.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 10, 2024 from 2PM until time of service 4 PM at Hartzler Funeral Home, Libertytown, 11802 Liberty Rd., Frederick. Inurnment will be private.
