About	Robert Elmer Measell, 79, of Woodsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, October 4, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Sandy Measell for 56 years. Born on July 16, 1945, in Frederick, MD he was the son of the late Elmer and Hilda (Burrier) Measell. Robert was a 1963 graduate of Walkersville High School and a 1968 graduate of University of MD earning his Bachelor's degree. He then married his wife Sandy in 1968. Robert was a dairy farmer for 20 years and then worked for B&C Utility and Supply/EJIW for 20 years as an inside sales person, retiring in 2009. He was a member of Woodsboro Evangelical Church and the Frederick Co. Farm Bureau for 50 years. Robert enjoyed reading, playing cards with friends and eating out with friends and family. He also enjoyed special trips with family and friends. Robert's favorite place to visit was Hawaii. He also enjoyed his many trips to the Outer Banks. Best of all, he enjoyed his time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports and performing in their school and church activities. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, son, Michael Measell and wife Annette, daughter, Jennifer Abrecht and husband Greg; grandchildren, Derek Measell and wife Christina and their children Scarlett and Oakleigh, Adam Measell and wife Hannah, Kaitlin Measell, Connor Abrecht and Garrison Abrecht; sister Donna Lakin and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. A celebration of Robert's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD. The pall bearers will be Michael, Derek and Adam Measell, and Greg, Connor and Garrison Abrecht. Honorary pall bearers are Austin Schroyer, Roger Wheeler, Larry Williams and Alan Heflin. Memorial donations may be made to Woodsboro Evangelical Lutheran Church, woodsborolutheranchurch.com or Woodsboro Volunteer Fire Co.,woodsborovfc.org.
