About Marlin Lamar "Marty" Naugle, 73, of Legore, died Friday, May 23, 2014 at Gettysburg Lutheran Nursing Home, following an extended illness.

Born June 1, 1940 in Legore, he was the son of the late Harry Albert and Margaret Catherine Weddle Naugle.

Marty was a 1958 graduate of Walkersville High School and was formerly employed at Eastalco, Frederick, as a crane operator, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of Oak Hill Church of God, Legore, and Loyal Order of Moose, Frederick.

In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball, bowling and pinball.

Marty played the 6-string guitar and sang with the Sheriff's Posse band, then formed the Hat Creek Country band, playing classic country music for many events from private parties to the Great Frederick Fair.

Marty was also an avid sports fan, rooting for the Baltimore Colts, Orioles and Ravens.

He enjoyed spending time with his numerous pets. He lived life to the fullest and exemplified doing it "my way".

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Richard Desorcy of Taneytown; sister, Lamana "Darlene" Wagner of Baltimore; brothers, Donald Crabbs and wife, Mary of Frederick, Denver "Buzz" Crabbs of Hudson, FL; niece, Carol Rupert and husband, Kevin; nephews, Larry Naugle and wife, Marie, Michael Crabbs and wife, Dottie, James Crouse and wife, Marlene, Fred Wagner and wife Mary Ann, Dale Wagner and wife, Lou Ann; 1 great-niece; 4 great-nephews; and special friends, Sharon Unger and Fay Favilla.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Carolyn Naugle and Freida Piechocki.

The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, on Friday, May 30 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dahl Drenning, of Trinity Lutheran Church, Westminster, officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Woodsboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick County Humane Society, P.O. Box 3185, Frederick, MD 21705-3185.
