UPDATE: We have many classmates travelling from across the country to our reunion!!! Great news!

I am writing to provide further details for our 55th reunion on Saturday, September 20, from 6-10pm at Crystal Community Club on Preston Street in Wakefield. So far, we have classmates from CA, TX, NM, VA, MD, ME, RI, NH, and of course MA!

A multi-course catered dinner (including green salad, dinner rolls, stuffed shells with homemade sauce, chicken piccata, beef burgundy, steamed vegetables, fresh fruit salad and/or Italian dessert pastries, and a coffee/tea station) also offers gluten-free and vegetarian options; if these options are of interest, please let me know (see my business card) and I will pass the final tally on to our caterer, one of the best on the North Shore! There will be a cash bar at 6pm, followed with dinner at 7:00.

We also have hired a professional DJ from Wakefield, Pat Tecce, who will provide a range of music for our socializing, listening, and dancing pleasure. I should mention that the selection of music will appeal to most listeners, and believe that it will be the music we have loved--including jazz, folk, vocals from a range of wonderful singers from Johnny Hartman to Diana Krall, some Latin music for those who enjoy salsa, some classic country songs that will encourage country line dancing, music from groups like the Eagles, the Four Seasons, the Buena Vista Social Club, and artists especially meaningful to people who were young in the 1970s (e.g. Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, etc.). Although we can’t bring back Dick Summer or Arnie Woo Woo Ginsberg, we can still enjoy the songs they played on WBZ.

Tickets are $60 per person; spouses and guests are welcome along with graduates of the classes of 1969 and 1971. Checks should be made out to Barbara Donahue, our treasurer, and sent to her at 11 Beebe Lane, Wakefield MA 01880 to reach her by July 31.
