Served as a firefighter/crash rescueman with the MacDill Air Force Base Fire Department near Tampa, Florida from 1980 to 1983. Assigned to the 56th Civil Engineer Squadron, 56th Tactical Training Wing. Honorably discharged in August 1983.

Entered in November 1983. Completed basic and combat engineer training in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. Completed airborne school and served in Italy (84-87), Ft. Bragg, NC (87-89), San Jose, CA (89-92), Korea (92-93), Ft. Bragg, NC (93-98), Germany (98-01), Ft. Bliss, TX (01-04), and Ft. Bragg, NC (04-09). Retired as the Command Sergeant Major of the 27th Engineer Battalion and acting Brigade Command Sergeant Major of the 20th Engineer Brigade with 29+ years combined service on Aug. 1, 2009. Served in Haiti (Operation Uphold/Restore Democracy), Kosovo (Operation Joint Guardian), and twice to Afghanistan (Jun-Dec 04 & Apr 06-Apr 07) for Operation Enduring Freedom.

Our Waialua High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Waialua High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
