About | Michael L. Hereda, 66, a lifelong resident of Wadsworth and more recently having resided in Rittman, passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side on February 6, 2019. Michael was born in Akron, Ohio on July 23, 1952, to the late John and Jackie (Fisher) Hereda. Mike was a 1970 graduate of Wadsworth High School and graduated from Walsh University. Mike coached his boys and many other youths in different sports including Wadsworth Youth Baseball and Wadsworth Youth Football for many years. Mike worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for 48 years. He also worked for the Wadsworth Police Department, Medina County Sheriff Department and the Village of Gloria Glens for nearly 40 years. He was actively involved with the Medina County Sheriff Explorer Post 2252. Mike enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in their various activities. He also loved vacationing in Hilton Head with his wife, Elaine. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, brother Greg Hereda and mother and father in law, Lester and Lucile Kasserman. He is Survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Elaine (Kasserman), daughter; Tanya (Don) Miksch of Wadsworth, OH sons; Matthew Hereda of North Canton, OH, Michael Hereda Jr. of Chicago, IL, and Marcus (Jeanine) Hereda of Wadsworth, OH. Grandchildren, Jordan and Brandon Miksch, Andrew and Owen Hereda, Drew, Jaret and Ben Lilly. Sister-in-laws Debbie Hereda (Wadsworth, OH), Janet (Roy) Patton (Tulsa, OK) and Connie (Scott) Brewer (Fort Myers, FL). Brother-in-law Ken (Vicky) Kasserman (Versailles, IN). There are also many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family receives friends 4-8pm Sunday, February10, 2019 at the Hilliard Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St. Wadsworth. Where funeral services were conducted Monday, February 11, 2019 at 9 am with Fr. Robert Jackson officiating. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at Akron General Hospital for the excellent care Mike received. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Medina County Explorers Post 2252 or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. |
