About Event
This year's reunion not only commemorates the 10 year anniversary of our annual reunion, but it's possibly the most important one to date, in lieu of the ongoing negotiations with DISD and the Dallas City Council to grant us the distinction of Historical Landmark Status for the school building. We are asking for all attendees to please pre-register for this event by returning the registration form included in the Acorn newsletter, or by downloading a registration form at adamsonalumni.com. • 11:00am Registration begins at school entrance • 11:30am Catered BBQ lunch begins serving in school cafeteria. Mouth watering brisket, smoked chicken and smoked sausage accompanied by all the traditional sides. Save some room for Pearly's great banana pudding. • 12:45pm Reunion program begins in the Adamson auditorium. This year's guest speaker is Gayla Brooks Kokel, co-author of IMAGES OF AMERICA; OAK CLIFF. Also on hand will be Lon Oakley, last year's guest speaker, and author of OAK CLIFF BOYS. The Adamson Hall of Honor inductees for 2010 will also be announced and awarded to attending winners and/or family members accepting the honor posthumously. The entertainment portion of the program is of yet undecided, but will be announced on confirmation. • 2:15pm A self guided tour of the school will be available this year, and we will provide a classroom map which will include information at each classroom entrance indicating all the former Adamson teachers whose classes were held in each existing classroom.
