About Me I serve as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Head Usher/Usher, and Greeter in my church. Other areas of ministry I served in were Awana Leader, Camp Counselor, Usher Coordinator, Greeter Coordinator, and Soul-winning programs. I was a ten year member of TCO SPEAKOS speech club at Tennant Co. I served as it's President, VP of Education, and Sergeant-At-Arms. I served one year as the Area 57 Governor presiding over 6 different speech clubs. I retired from my 41 1/2 computer career in Dec. 2008. My last job title was Software Engineer. I had a wonderful Computer career. After I had accumulated a few years of experience in the computer field, I was constantly hounded by other corporations to come on board and work for them. I could have changed jobs every two months. I turned down a lot of nice opportunities. My first priority was what impact would a job change have on me to be able to continue to faithfully serve the Lord. Tennant Co. became Global in 1995. In my last 4 years of my computer career, 70% of my job was related doing projects for Europe and Asia. I spent a lot time communicating by phone or tele-conferencing with the foreign employees for Tennant over in Australia. England, Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Korea, and China. Two of my main challenges were dealing with their broken English, and the time zone differentials. I learned quickly that computer technology that works in America doesn't work at all for Europe and Asia. So my 300 lines of program code for North America projects turned into 1,000, to 1,200 lines of program code to include the European and Asian differences. I wrote over 2,000 different programs for Tennant. I volunteer at Mercy Hospital at the Information Desk and Surgical Waiting Area. I'm serving a two-yr. term as Secretary for our Volunteer Services Committee. I began a 2-year term as District G HCAM Secretary/Treasurer Nov. 1, 2011. My favorite city to live in was St Louis. Mo. My favorite Pro Baseball team is the St Louis Cardinals. I've been Cardinal fan since 1956. I used to listen to many of the Cardinal games back in So. Dak. on KMOX radio St. Louis. I attended over 500 Cardinal home baseball games beginning with my two years of military duty at Fort Leonard, Mo. and then subsequently the 6 years that I lived in St Louis. I made the 120 mile commute to St Louis practically every time I'd be off from my military duty. I was on military duty for 24 hours and off duty the next 24 hours. I also had every other week end off. I also had a lot time off in between the Basic Training recruits breaks. After a group of Basic Training Recruits had completed their 6 weeks of Basic Training, I would be off from 2-4 weeks between those breaks. Time off during those breaks was referred to as Zero week. I had to stay within a distance of three hours from Fort Leonard Wood when I was off duty. I would call in every day to the army base from St Louis when I was on Zero week, because we didn't know when the next group of recruits would start their Basic Training. Our unit would not be notifiied until a couple days before the new recruits were scheduled to show up. My second favorite baseball team is the Minnesota Twins. As far as Pro football and basketball, I switch my allegiance depending on the character of players that are on the teams. I did a lot of traveling for my SAP computer training classes. My wife and I have a traveled to a lot of places in Amer...(read more)
