Spent 1 yr in Thailand, 1 Yr in No Dakota, 11 Yrs in Omaha, NE, 6 Yrs in Germany and finished my career in 1990 after 4 yrs at the Pentagon.

Retired from the Air Force in 1988 as a Public Affairs Technician at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, LA. Editor of newspapers at several bases. Earned numerous military journalism awards, including: First Place Editor in 1984; Third Place Sportswriter, 1983; and First Runner-up in 1982 and 1986. Worked with national and international news media for press coverage of Presidents (Carter and Reagan), vice president, members of Congress, foreign heads of state, the Pope's visit to U.S., return of American hostages from Iran and six NCAA football bowl games. Interviewed NFL coach Tom Landry, baseball owner George Steinbrenner, former Grambling football coach Eddie Robinson and many professional athletes (including George Foreman, Sugar Ray Leonard, Alexis Arguella, Bruce Smith, Lynn Swann and many more). Awards and decorations include Air Force Meritorious Service Medal; AF Commendation Medal, AF Acheivement Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (3 Service Stars), Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Entered the USAF in November 1966 and retired in December 1986.

Retired as a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8)

Spent a year at Bien Hoa Air Base (about 50 miles north of Saigon) from August 1969 - August 1970.

Spent thirteen of my twenty years in the Colorado Springs area including my last four years getting Air Force Space Command up and running. I had the opportunity to travel to all of our missile warning, satellite tracking and other sensor systems around the world.
