LUIZ, Raymond Edward, Jr., age 44 of Sewanee, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 at his home. A native of Napa, CA, he was a 1983 graduate of Napa High School. Mr. Luiz served in the United States Marine Corps. from 1986-1994 and had made his home in Franklin County for the last few years. Raymond was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Edward Luiz, Sr.; mother, Jessie Marie Wells Wilson; step-father, Truman (Mark) Wilson; brother, Frank Costa; and three sisters, Benjamin Luiz, Patricia Luiz and Tammy Luiz. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Catherine Ann Short Luiz; step-mother, Della Luiz of Muldrow, OK; brother, Edward (April) Luiz of Ft. Smith AR; two sisters, Christine (Wilson) Van Pelt of Little Rock, AR and Terri Powell of Muldrow, OK; special aunt and uncle, Delores and Jim Clark of Sparks, NV; and many beloved nieces and nephews. A graveside service with military honors was conducted on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010.
