| About Me | Some background: I've lived in southeastern Ontario since January of 1997, but I was first introduced to Canada while at the University of Evansville, when I spent my summers marching with a Canadian drum and bugle corps from 1978 to 1980. (Before I married, my last name was Templeton.) I majored in music and journalism at UE, graduating in 1981. Clarinet was my main instrument; I also played bari sax in jazz band. During this time, I also marched in the Oakland Crusaders, a drum corps from Etobicoke, Ontario, as a member of the flag line. My role expanded over the years to include proofreading, editing and photography. For five years, I also edited a monthly newsletter for the Brockville Women's Network and wrote the group's monthly news releases. Following a three-year stint as vice-president, president and past president, I returned to life as a regular member,...(read more) |
