About Me	Married to Helen M Rodriguez (St. Bernard's, S '70) from 9/11/1971 to her Passing, 12/11/2021. Partner. Mother. Healer. Best Friend. Soulmate. At VHS, Ran Track and Cross Country; did Sports for the paper the year I broke my toe in Judo during Cross Country season (Coach was pissed). Decided to NOT enlist for Nam (after the fight with Dad when RFK was shot) but entered UCLA instead; joined USMC Platoon Leaders Class in 1969; graduated UCLA 1972; went active duty as 2nd Lt.; served til 1976; grad sch at CSUN (Counseling Psych); MA 1979; wrkd with foster kids, Juvenile Justice; substance abuse; 1990 became case mgr/counselor at Project HEAVY West in Venice/Mar Vista Gardens area; worked w/Principal Jan Davis (who taught Drill Team to my wife's 2 sisters) and Henry Lazo, Dean (former member, Coach Rose Gymnastics team with my kid brother Mike). Coordinated our L.A. Bridges program, wrking w/Mike Bonin (then an aide to Ruth Galanter) and Mark Ridley-Thomas; facilitated the peace efforts in the neighborhood to stop the shootings; left in 2003 for 14 years with the Wraparound Program at Vist...(read more)
