Mr. Heflin had to be one of my favorite teachers. I was quite the rebel in high school and didn't feel like I needed to listen to anybody but Mr. Ephron just Hadaway of getting through to me. I mean I understand it was a shop class called communications but I love that class and Mr. Heflin had a lot to do with why I loved that class. I made sure that I was enrolled in this class every year that I could because he made it so interesting. I feel he made a big difference in the way I look at things to the point where when I got out of high school and finished with my Army career I got into the business of running printing presses doing silkscreening signs and shirts for several top companies in the Richmond area. I eventually went out on my own and owned several different businesses at the same time after I had moved to Connecticut. To this day I still am in self-employed and will be until I retire. A big reason why I've been able to do this is in my heart I feel his influence over me made me want to be a better person. I'm now 55 years old and he's the only teacher I had in high school that I can still remember his name. I tried looking him up.vev and several in Times over the last few years and was unable to get in touch with him. If anyone knows whether he's still around or not and am able to get a message to him I would love to be able to meet him again and tell him what a difference he made not only in my high school career but in my life.
