Andrea Jo Hoffman Epstein (Andy) was my beloved sister who passed Memorial Day weekend in 1990 at age 41 after a 3 1/2 year fight against breast cancer. She had three incredible children and would be a grandmother of six now had she lived. We grew up sharing a room, and although she was a very reserved person, we were quite close and I miss her every day of my life. I think my favorite memory was when Andy was a HS Junior and attempting to do her Chemistry homework. Suddenly, in her anger and frustration she jumped up and started singing to the tune of "Painted Black" by the Rolling Stones, "I see a Chem book and I want it painted black..." Then she got out my black tempera paints and painted her Chem Review book black. It was so freaking funny. It makes me laugh every time I think of it. She was awesome.
