About	Larraine G. Hawes of McCall, Idaho passed away on November 4, 2015 in her home surrounded by family and friends after a valiant battle with cancer. She was 56 years old. Larraine was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1959 and grew up in California, Hawaii, and New Mexico. She was a graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara where she majored in anthropology and minored in coaching. She began a career in accounting at several Santa Barbara businesses and met her beloved husband Ralph while living there. Ralph and Larraine were residents of Santa Barbara for fifteen years prior to moving to McCall over twenty years ago. Upon moving to McCall, Larraine worked for Millemann, Pittenger & McMahan LLP and became a legal secretary. Most recently, she was employed at the McCall Chamber of Commerce, where she loved to tell people where to go (i.e., how to experience the McCall area) and at High Mountain Nursery, where she indulged her love of plants and nature. During her service at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, she became a worship leader. Larraine will be remembered for her love of the outdoors, in particular the beaches where she grew up and the mountains of her adopted home. She loved to camp and enjoyed fishing, picnics, gardening, and time with family. She was devoted to animals and was an avid fundraiser for McPaws Regional Animal Shelter in support of animal adoption and compassionate and responsible pet ownership. She will be remembered for her generosity, service to community, and love of family and friends. A passionate person, Larraine was also known to tell family and friends "Oh, lighten up!" She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father-in-law. She is survived by her beloved husband Ralph, her dog Dottie, her parents Dorothy Rowe Gardner and Kenneth D. Gardner, M.D.; sisters Karen (Greg) Watters, Cathy (John) Pearson, Hillary Gardner (Peter LaBrusciano); mother-in-law Solita Hawes, brother-in-law Jon (Wanda) Hawes, sister-in-law Lynn (Chris) Ross, and many nieces and nephews.
