Gary grew up on a farm near Waterloo, NE. He married Cynthia Robinson of Elkhorn on May 23, 1970 in Omaha. Gary worked as a manager at a manufacturing industry in Omaha, and in his earlier years helped his dad with farming.
He was a member of the Waterloo Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. He also served on the Arlington Planning Board. Gary enjoyed nature, gardening, playing pinochle, and spending time with his family. He had a passion for knowledge and was a friend to everyone.
