Make your plans to make new memories in Urbana for the weekend of July 17, 18, & 19, 2015.
It is only $30 per person to reserve a spot at the Buffet Dinner on Saturday night.
The plans for the weekend are as follows:
On Friday, July 17, 2015 we will meet at the west end of Lincoln Square (Historic Urbana Hotel) for the Appetizer and Bar Crawl in Downtown Urbana. Enjoy a casual time and bring your vote for the best appetizer in Urbana to the gathering on Saturday evening. There are about 12 restaurants and 4 bars in walking distance of the Square.
Saturday morning, July 18, 2015 we will meet at 10 AM on the front steps of the High School for a class photo! After the photo, at 10:30 AM, we will take a tour of the newly renovated high school. The Auditorium and stage are newly renovated and the athletic field is new. Come to see our class brick at the entrance to the Athletic Field!
On Saturday evening, at 5 PM, we will meet at the Illini Union at 1401 W Green St in Room 314A for a buffet dinner catered by the University of Illinois catering. A cash beer & wine bar is available at 5 PM.
On Sunday, July 19, 2015, come to the Quad south of the Illini Union for a Fellowship on the Quad. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, and lawn games if you have them, and enjoy a chance to talk and reconnect in a quiet environment. Bottled water will be available for your refreshment as well as food vendors in the area.
Please send an RSVP along with $30 per person attending (for the dinner buffet) by July 1, 2015. Mail the RSVP and check to Pam Miller-Long at 600 W Morris St, Thomasboro, IL 61878. Please make the check payable to UHS Class of 1970 and include your name and any guest name for your printed name badge. For late reservations, please call Martha Martin-Weller at 651-592-4954.
There is a block of rooms set aside at the Illini Union Hotel under the Urbana High School Class of 1970. If you would like to stay there, please reserve your room before June 17, 2015.
Our class directory is still in a constant state of being updated and improved. It is still incomplete and we sincerely hope to locate and inform all of our former classmates of this and other class events.
