Douglas Alan Emmerton Obituary:
Douglas Emmerton passed away suddenly at his home in North Bend, WA on March 13, 2020. He was born in Grand Island, NE to Glen and Joyce Emmerton on February 26, 1956. Doug graduated from University High School in Spokane Valley, WA in 1974. After attending college, he began a career with Boeing. Doug worked on AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) and IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) radar systems. He then continued on as a project manager on flight simulators.
Doug loved sailing, golf and the Seahawks, for who he was a 41 year season ticket holder. He particularly loved sailing the San Juan Islands, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father; two sisters, Sharon and Chris; and his son, Justin. Doug is survived in death by his mother; his wife, Kim; his son, Ryan; sister, Glenda; brother, Greg; and granddaughters McKenna and Haley.
A private graveside service at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, La Conner, WA, will be held at a later date. You may offer your condolences and share memories of Doug with his family online at www.kernfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are through Kern Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.
