About	Ellen became a newspaper reporter, as she always wanted. She worked for some time for the Jackson Sun. The attached photo is from Brad Warthen (of the Washington Post)'s blog in the Palmetto State.com. The broader picture shows her in the spring of 2005 at a reunion of the Jackson Sun staff She then went on to Nashville, writing editorials for the Nashville Tennessean at the time of her death. She lost her fight with breast cancer on December 21, 2006. She was a very intelligent and caring individual, whom I was privileged to know briefly Seated with her to her right and left are Wichita Eagle cartoonist Richard Crowson and Washington lobbyist Joel Woods
