William Evans
Class of 1976
Besides being a member of the 1973 ucchs football team which went undefeated, William has been in the newspapers in Sugarland Texas for his work helping underpriveledge youths learn traits which would help them in their future. As the main point man for a creek cleanup program, William would use a canoe and pick up trash from along the 6 miles of waterway in order to protect the fragile ecosystem of that area. With the help of his several youths from the Sugarland Detention Center, they would clean the creek, plant shrubs and build trash recepticles along the banks all while several gators would watch them from a distance. William has seen a great part of the world, and with his wife of over 28 years, have cruised a great part of the mediterrainium, hawaii, alaska and the carrabean. They have also driven a great length of the west from California to Florida and from Niagra to New Orleans. William work also involves photography and has produced many dvds for personal use and for his 35th class reunion. William spent 5 seasons as a member of the Houston Senior Baseball League and was awarded the mvp twice and was an allstar 3 times. He was given a chance to try out for the National League Pittsburgh Pirates in 1995 and was invited to attend the Sydney Olympics.
