Enlisted service from Jun '58 to Jun '68, when appointed a Warrant Officer. Achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class as enlisted and Chief Warrant Officer 3, the grade at which I retired in 1978. Served stateside at Ft Knox, KY; Erie, PA; Ft Lee, VA; Ft Eustis, VA; Ft Drum, NY. Overseas service includes Korea, Germany, Greece, and Vietnam.

United States Navy Cryptologist. Stationed in Scotland, Japan (two tours - Okinawa and Misawa), West Virginia, and Florida. Visited ports of call - Hong Kong, China; Phuket, Thailand; Darwin, Austrailia; Jalarta, Indonesia; Singapore; Hiroshima, Japan; Vladivostok, Russia. Deployed on USS Forrestal, USS Blue Ridge, USS New York City, USS Dubuque, USS Independence. Conducted flight ops with VP Squadron in Okinawa.
