About Me USAF OFFICER, COLONEL - Served in a variety of positions globally with ever-increasing responsibilities. Positions held included Chief, Maintenance Division of HQ Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC); Commander 49th Maintenance Group; Commander 377th Maintenance Group/489th Munitions Maintenance Group; Deputy Director of Safety and Chief of Nuclear Surety at HQ Air Force Space Command; Deputy Chief of Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Maintenance Division, HQ Air Force Space Command, and other positions. - Consistently ranked first among peers while in key leadership positions: Named #1 of 3 Group Commanders in AF Nuclear Weapon Center, Best Maintenance Group Commander ever seen stated 49th Fighter Wing Commander; #1 ICBM Staff Officer at Higher HQ (USSTRATCOM); #1 Maintenance Staff Officer and Top 1% of Mid-level and Senior Level managers in Higher HQ (AFSPC) and #1 of 22 Squadron Commanders in 341 Missile Wing. -Top AF logistic management leader--Gen Thomas Gerrity Award for leadership, 2 times Col Edward Payne Award & multiple Maintenance Effectiveness Awards for outstanding production efficiencies & cost savings. - Led the AF's only two nuclear munitions maintenance depots; met or exceeded AFs toughest requirements. -- Led AF Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) through four of the AF's most demanding inspections, achieving an overall grade of "Excellent" in 2007 NSI, nine of 12 areas inspected were rated "Excellent" or "Outstanding", with zero major findings;Inspector General stated "best seen in 10 years!" - Established AF's first combined nuclear-capable ICBM, Bomber, and nuclear weapons Maintenance division. - Structured and led day-to-day functions of force structure, funding priorities, and identification of future requirements for AFGSC's Maintenance disciplines. Managed multi-faceted programs for two distinct nuclear-capable weapon systems - ICBMs and B-2/B-52 bombers - regaining high Operational Ready Rates while reorganizing modernization efforts never before seen in DOD history. - Handpicked as Global Strike's first Safety Investigation Board president; in-depth analysis ensured effective root cause determination and repair of two ICBM silos within one year of accident. - Impeccably managed higher HQ action for the ICBM and Bomber mission transfer; first mission transfer in 27 years. Provided critical insight and attention detail that was crucial in establishing critical work force requirements and support agreements with the losing Higher HQ Commands in less than one year. - Restructured AF's only two nuclear munitions maintenance and sustainment units ineffective Quality Assurance compliance/oversight program. Completely changed inspection/evaluation processes to include reporting results to commander IAW AF directives--compliance integrity improved by 70%. - Served as senior maintenance manager/leader in flawless decommissioning/retirement of the F-117A Stealth Fighter fleet. Saved the AF more than $6 million by streamlining processes resulting in retirement completion three months early. - Executed the development and implementation of the F-22A Raptor Maintenance program and bed-down operations resulting in a $9 million savings and acceptance of aircraft four months early. - Directed operations in support of an ICBM operational ground test; successfully tested new guidance systems, a first for the AF with overwhelming success. - Served as spokesperson for Air Force Space & Global Strike Command Nuclear Posture Review. Developed plan, built succinct briefings presented to senior Air Force leaders; accepted as model road map for nuclear forces. - Revitalized long dormant ICBM force modernization efforts. Championed $6.4 billion upgrade program--most extensive in AF history. Resolved several logistics deployment issues, 21st Century deterrence assured. - As a Senior AF Officer, led diverse programs and units; directly responsible for thousands of personnel. Extremely adept in multi-tasking environment while balancing mission and people needs. - Directed dynamic Maintenance Division day-to-day maintenance/sustainment operations for the newly established AFGSC; mandated new policy and guidance for ICBM and nuclear Bomber force. - Orchestrated implementation of weapon system management teams concept to modernize and sustain AFGSC combat weapon systems to reverse a history of atrophy.
