Favorite School Memory Probably Pep club ~ they don't have it any more, ... what's up with that! I mean really! what do loudmouth girls do now to stay out of trouble? I also really liked being on the Debating team, ... but my favorite memory> I would guess it would be the fan buses, the bond fires, homecoming, especially the year I nominated Eve Kendrick! I still think she was so pretty, inside and out! Paling around with Patty Francis, and Linda Braaksma, and Marianne Curbox. Carol Webb, Kristie Spitzer, Cindy Coble, Lisa Olson, ... Kathy Miller, Crystal Haygood, Jean Karnof, ,, so many more... How could we have not realized how special it was to be who we were, where we were, when we we...(read more)
About Me Well, now, that is a long time, isn't it! Well, after I left the radio station and the cable company, I have worked as a freelance reporter, a restaurant manager, an officer in Indianapolis for 5 crazy years, worked as an EMT, was a single mother for fourteen years, ... I was living in Muncie, my youngest daughter, Amanda was a junior in college and I decided it was time I finally found a life of my own. So I packed what I could in my car, including my cat Pounce, and with $400 dollars to my name, I headed for the West Coast because I had never seen the ocean. I didn't talk to anyone back home but my daughters for over two years. I ran out of gas and money at the Sherman Street exit in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. I took Pounce, we walked down the exit ramp to the first motel we came to, and I got a job as a room attendant. For two weeks, until I got my first check, Pounce and I lived in a tent in the woods. Pounce came with me to work, the head Housekeeper allowed me to keep him in a room every day until work was over. Then we went back to our tent! It was different way to live, I'll give you that! It was April so it was cold, but we were by the lake and we could have a campfire. It was not too bad. I thought about all the things that had happened in my life, like my 2 failed marriages and a failed relationship or two, ... I decided to forgive my parents for being human, looked at the product of their endeavors, namely me, ... *sigh* and I kept what I liked and purposed to change what I didn't like about my self. I took responsibility and accountability for who I am. I had a blank sheet of life ahead of me and could become who I had always wanted to be. I have accomplished that. Yes I have been to the ocean. I cried, ... it was so beautiful, so big, so totally awesome, Just standing there looking at the vastness of it, hearing the sound of the waves, I knew, finally, there is a God! Pounce was not so impressed! *laffin* The sand got in between his toes, ... in his fur. The salt water tasted yucky and he decided not to participate. You could pick us out right away, ... I was the one dragging the cat on a halter and leash on his side across the beach! *shaking my head* He was the cat with the ears turned to their side, arms folded across his chest back legs flopping like a rag doll with a look of total disgust on his face as his body dug a trench in the beach. He was not a happy kitty. We had a long talk about it afterward. We haven't gone back, ... yet! *wink* Pounce doesn't care if we ever go back! *giggle* Anyway, two years after settling in Idaho, my girlfriend wanted me to meet her Marine friend, ... and I wanted no part of it, thank you very much! It took six months for her to get us in the same room, ... then I told him I was going to give up men for good. *wicked wink* He didn't believe me, ... go figure! He said anyone who eyes danced like mine had to be available! Right. So one morning he told me we had places to go, ... we went to the marriage license place at nine o'clock when they opened. I asked the clerks when the license expired, .. they said never in Idaho, ... two hours later we were at our church, my girlfriends were all there, they had brought a dress, a bouquet, there were rings, a few friends, our pastor, ... So we had a surprise wedding, ... He even had his parents from Oregon on the cell phone! So I became a Marine wife, ... I surprised him with a 250 people civil war reenactment wedding on our 5th anniversary, Hey sauce for the goose and all that! Now we are retired, ... and I am Auntie Meow, the Greatest Auntie alive! And my eyes still twinkle,... and I give the very best kitty tea parties in the world. I am completely and totally loved by a sweet indulgent man who I am always afraid to tell I like something because he goes and buys ...(read more)
