Ron has a special place in my memory book. He played 'Stairway To Heaven' for me for the first time... on a stereo he had set up in the trunk of his car. We must have looked like a drug deal was going down out there in the parking lot by the baseball field... but it was just a couple of Led Heads sharing their obsession for the kind of hard rock that was starting to break away from the bubblegum pop that so many of our friends were still stuck to. I remember joking with him after Cheer and Songleader tryouts (when I was Pep Commissioner)... and the Association's 'Windy' was played over and over with each routine. We were so sick of it, and I wanted someone to come out doing a routine to 'Black Dog' instead! Rest in Rock Ron...
