About Me	Well, I got a couple of theater scholarships to attend IJC. Was a Theater major. After IJC, spent two years helping my parents in their work as missionaries establishing Hispanic missions in Louisiana and Oklahoma. It was while we were in Louisiana that I applied to go to school there and so, in 1987, transferred to LSU in Baton Rouge. Graduated with a degree in American History in 1989. Not long after that, I got a teaching certificate for Secondary Social Studies and became a certified high school teacher. Decided that high school teaching wasn't exactly right for me. However, my old boss at the LSU Library gave me a call and offered me a job working at the library and that is how my career in libraries got started. I worked at the Education Resources and in the Reference Department at LSU during the late 80s and early 90s right at the beginning of the Internet age. I learned a lot about website design. After my dad passed away, felt the need to go back home to MS and got a job working at the Government Documents department at Ole Miss. Commuted from Tupelo to Oxford every day for three years until I got a new job in Olympia, WA. I worked at The Evergreen State College as the Library's head of Government Documents/Maps for 12.5 years. The library made the decision to eliminate the collection and, hence, my position was cut. Was lucky to get a new job at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA. Worked there for four years until I decided it was time to return home to Tupelo.
