About Me | I am a Christian, (believer in Christ & his teachings) especially the Beatitudes and how we are supposed to help the poor, the sick, the less fortunate. I try to live & promote Christ's teachings, with the talents God gave me. I wiill have been married 34 years July 22nd. I have a daughter, Elizabeth who is 20. We have a close relationship which I am so grateful for. With God's and friends help Elizabeth has turned into a smart, compassionate, caring and hard working young lady. I love volunteering but miss not being the energizer bunny. I have fribromyalgia, arithitis and atrial fib and try not to let it get me down and I try to complete my God given purpose in life to the best of my ability. I love to read and spread God's love especially to children. Just finished VBS and are getting ready to start a group with Bonnie that will address and fight for the rights of the aged, sick, disabled, poor, etc.., I am looking forward to that. Just met Bonnie through VBS. Thank you God! Met a lot of caring, compassionate, caring, wonderful people through VBS! Want to also get the word out that making time for volunteering is well worth it! I love to read and learn, I love to crochet and garden (when my arithitis symptoms are in remission. I am a quiet person, until I see someone being wronged then I find assertiveness in me I never knew I had. I also am not quiet when the Holy Spirit takes over for me! We moved practices and rising health care costs, (ex: approx $600 per month spent on insur co pays for prescriptions which goes up every year). My experiences and my Christian faiths steer me to believe in Obama Care. If American is so great, why don't we take care of our own? It is the Christian way to pay higher taxes if need be to help the less fortunate! I am in! I tutor in a title 1 school and love it! But I don't love how children have to take backpacks of food on Friday nite otherwise they wouldn't get enough food to eat on the weekends. This shouldn't be happening in America!! I hate how the elderly are treated. We need to train and put unemployed people back to work and one great way is to train people to compassionately take care of the elderly so that they may stay in their homes. I have a AS in Accounting and a BS in Business Administration. All the positions that I have held in the business world did not give me the satisfaction and fullfillment that I received volunteering or working in a group home. Everybody needs someone with no alterior motive other than looking out for those who have no family and are aged, sick, poor, etc.. If we all did a little something for someone in need while expecting nothing in return, wouldn't America be united, stronger and so much nicer place to exist. We also need to get rid of politicians, our reps in government or at least the majority of them are not acting in the same spirit as those who wrote the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, etc... They were looking out for everyone. The majority of politicians are only looking out for themselves, and those who have contributed to their campaigns. Look up the financial information of our politicians, most of them are seriously wealthy due to their interests in companies. Ex, Speaker of the House has millions invested in Oil Companies and Energy Companies, Wall Street firms, etc.. And I used to wonder why they were into cutting social security and medicare, etc.. and creating tax loopholes for Big Oil, etc... Obama wanted to help the little guy but it looks like has given in to the pressures of the Republicans and Tea Partyers. Tea Partyers want to take away the rights of renters to vote. Awake America! We have to have auto insurance so whats the big deal to having to have health insurance? Check out Austrialia and Denmark, they have national health care and it sure beats our system before and after Obama care! I am ashamed at the me and greediness attitude of many Americans!! fThese beliefs make me me. To know me is to truly care and to take the time to listen to me, not just hear me. To truly care about me is to be honest and direct with me. Believe me I can take it, I came from a very dysfunctional famil...(read more) |
