Class of 1967
I am so happy that I took German in HS. In my 52 years as an LPN, I always had a patient that kept me fluent in German. I had a Holocaust patient that would flash back to his concentration camp days and would only talk Yiddish, but things were close enough that he could understand my German. My son was stationed in Germany his last 4 years if 20 in the Army snd went into a severe depression and I was the one that could take the time to go to live with him. We visited much of Bavaria. Everyone spoke English except for my generation. Nice because the German from school was a bit different than their dialect. So nice to see Germany and be able to understand much of what was said. Danke Herr Frank und Herr (forgot the teacher for second year). You never know where something you learned in school will lead you.
