Stacie Ann Tuell, 39, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006 at Stormont Vail Regional Health Center after a courageous five year battle with cancer. She was born October 23, 1966 in Topeka, the daughter of George Steven and Patricia Sue (Myers) Murray. She was a 1985 graduate of Topeka West High School and attended Washburn University. She worked for the State of Kansas, Dept. of SRS from 1985 to 1986. She transferred to the State of Kansas Insurance Dept. from 1987 to 1995, then transferred to the Health Care Stabilization Fund from 1995 to 1997. She then became the Executive Secretary of USD 501 Food Service and then transferred as secretary of Randolph Elementary School. She was known for her sweet personality and was always kind and generous. She was loved by all whose lives she touched. Stacie was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt and a friend. She loved Jesus and people more than herself. She mothered the earth and would feed animals, domestic and otherwise. She was patriotic and loved to document her life with notes and pictures. She came from a large family and loved being "big" and "little" sister. She had a good work ethic which she attributed to her father. She married David F. "Duff" Tuell on December 29, 1990 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Jessica, of the home; parents George Steven and Patricia Sue Murray, Topeka; a sister, Pamela Brown, Auburn; two brothers, Steven and Brad Murray, both of Topeka; a grandmother, Doris M. Myers; three nieces and three nephews. Stacie will lie in state after 2:00 pm, Tuesday Jan. 17, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 that evening. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Fairlawn Heights Wesleyan Church, 5400 Huntoon, with burial to follow in Penwell-Gabels Memorial Park Cemetery.
