Susan Johnson McCracken 49, of Westfield, Indiana, died Monday, April 27, at her home surrounded by family and friends. Susie was married 28 years to her husband Scott, who survives her. Surviving children include Molly (Josh) Monroe, Haley, Mary Lou, and Ellie. Other survivors include parents, Bruce and Mary Lou Johnson of Topeka, Kansas; sister, Kathy Timpany of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and brother, Eric Johnson of Topeka, Kansas. Susie was born in Topeka, Kansas, on July 27, 1959. She graduated from Topeka West High School and then earned a degree in fashion merchandising at Parks College in Denver, Colorado. She met her husband Scott while working at the C Lazy U Ranch in Grandby, Colorado. Susie and Scott were on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ for 12 years and Susie worked the past seven years as a medical office manager. Susie was a 19-year member of The Church at the Crossing in Indianapolis where she served in many areas, including choir, directing numerous special programs, girl's Bible study leader, elder board, and various women's ministry activities. She loved music, summertime at the Minnesota cabin, coffee dates, making and entertaining friends, but most of all, Susie loved spending time with her family. Visitation will be Thursday, April 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan of Carmel. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 1, at 1 p.m. at The Church at the Crossing in Indianapolis. Committal services will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Church at the Crossing or to the college funds of Susie's daughters (care of Flanner & Buchanan, 325 East Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN 46032).
