Gary Wayne Schaefer, Jr., age 42, formerly of Topeka, passed away May 9, 2012. Gary graduated from Topeka West High School in 1988. He was dedicated to his work of Industrial Management. Survivors include, his son, Gary W. Schaefer, III, Hays KS; mother, Mary F. Bechtold, Topeka; brother, Brian Schaefer, (Kinslei) Kittredge CO; sister, Tracey Gartner, (Ken), Topeka; brothers, Matthew and Brendan Schaefer, both of Houston TX; 2 nieces and 6 nephews. His father Gary W. Schaefer, Sr. preceded him in death in December. Gary will lie in state Mon from 5-7 p.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka KS 66614, where a rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m., Tues. at Christ the King Catholic Church.
