| About Me | Mr. Allen Yessman, a devoted accountant, is currently, a consultant and Adjunct Professor of Accounting at the Huizenga School of Business of Nova Southeastern University., Mr. Yessman also is an adjunct from time to time at Florida Atlantic University in South Florida as well. Mr. Yessman earned a Master Degree in Accounting from Nova Southeastern University and his undergraduate BBA credentials from the University of Miami with a concentration in Accounting as well. Mr. Yessman has also earned certifications in Management Accounting (CMA), Public Accounting (CPA) and earned a certification in Business Management (CBM). He is also a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the West Virginia Society of Public Accountants. As a member of the Florida Council of the Institute of Management Accountants, Allen is a past president. Mr. Yessman has also served on the National Board of Directors of the Institute of Management Accountants for two years, as well as serving on the Global Member Services Committee. He also completed five years and two terms on the IMA Global Board of Regents of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants. The members of the Board of Regents are appointed by the IMA and are responsible for the Certified Management Accounting exam (CMA) given in the United States as well as 100+ other countries around the world. He is the only member of the IMA in South Florida to ever be a member of this board. Allen has continued as an advisor to the Certified Management Accountants exam as well as acting as a CMA exam question reviewer and a CMA exam grader. He has been involved with the CMA program in multiple capacities for more than 10 years. Allen also has a passion for accounting education. Although he prides himself as an instructor at the undergraduate level, he also teaches graduate level accounting at Nova Southeastern University as well. Recently, Mr. Yessman was nominated by the student body for Professor of the Year for the Huizenga College. This was the first ever nomination for an adjunct professor at the university. As an accomplished speaker in accounting, Allen has given presentations to the executive global board of the Institute of Management Accountants, the global annual conference of IMA as well as the National Association of Retailers, the Florida Council of IMA on several occasions, and also several local IMA chapters and universities throughout the southeast. In New Orleans in June 2013, Mr. Yessman spoke at the IMA Annual Conference. The presentation was called The Psychology of a Fraudster, discussing some their well-known characteristics. His most recent presentation is called Is “Good Profit” a Myth? - Using the Market Based Management Framework that was given most recently at the Centerra Group for the Palm Beach Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants.
