Served with the 4 Mobile Combat Comunications Group and as a Microwave Technician supporting Army units out of Qui Nhon, Vietnam. Partially disabled from combat service 1969.

Special Agent / Special Investigations and Counterintelligence Officer with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and Counterintelligence (OSI) 1970-1974. Field Agent for two years then sent to Masters Degree program in Southeast Asian Area and Language Studies at the School of International Service of The American University, Washington, D.C.
