Currently AD and stationed at Luke AFB, AZ. I'm a Healthcare Administrator, but have served in several different duties over the years. I primarily work in Medical Readiness and Emergency Management. Currently, I am the Lead Inspector and Exercise Planner for the 56th Fighter Wing, Luke AFB, AZ.

26 years active duty after USAF Academy (69-73); retired as Colonel after 13 assignments in U.S and overseas as: Radar Systems Maintenance Officer, Cryptologic Systems Officer/Trainer, Communications and Computer Systems Officer, Professional Military Education Instructor and curriculum developer, Command Briefer, Squadron Commander, Pentagon joint staff officer, USAF Advisor to the Royal Thai Air Force, Director of President Bush's and Clinton's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, and Director of United States Strategic Command's Computer Operations.

Robert Wayne Nelson, Jr.
Class of 1967
Navy, 31 Years
Robert (Rob) Wayne Nelson, Jr. passed on 1/23/23. He was known to many as 'Brick', his callsign. Rob entered the US Navy in 1975 and served for 31 years as a fighter/strike pilot, which included numerous combat awards and aircraft carrier command as a Captain. He accumulated over 8000 hours of flight with over 1,400 arrested, carrier landings in numerous aircraft, ending with the F-18. Rob was a truly larger than life character, beloved by his family, Navy comrades and many, many friends and associates who hold him in the highest esteem and regard. Rob made people feel good about themselves and always had a kind word and friendly arm around the shoulder for everyone. He will be missed terribly, but will always be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, warrior's spirit, smarts, kindness, charm and charisma.
