I worked Family Nursing Unit, OB GYN/ Ward and Clinic (Assist NCOIC), Family Practice (NCOIC) Emergency Room and Immunizations. Married to retired, (30yrs) CMSGT USAF (Medic), James R. Durette. Our one and only son, Timothy D. Durette, served in the USA, 4yrs Active Duty in Kuwait, Operation Iragi Freedom, currently seving in the USAR, (PFC). HOOAH!!!! AIR POWER!!!! God Bless Those that Serve!!!!!

I attended boot camp at Parris Island S,C, from August to November 1981. Received orders to tank school Fort Knox KY for two months. Passed the school receiving my Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 1181. Received orders to 2nd Tank Battalion 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune Jacksonville N.C. from 82-84. I changed my (MOS) 1161 Refrigeration Mechinic and transfered to MATCS-28 Marine Corps Air Station New River Jacksonville N.C. from 85-89. Transfered to MASS II Marine Corps Air Station Futema Okinowa Japan on a company tour (family came along) 89-94. In December 92 - January 93 went (TAD) tempoary additional duty to a unit out of Camp Pendleton California from there went to Somalia.
Returned from Okinowa to Camp Lejeune 2nd Supply Battalion 2nd Force Service Support Group received a promotion to Staff Sergeant (E-6), (MOS) changed to Utilities Chief 1169 94-96. Went on to Recruiting Duty to Vermont with family 96-98. Returned to Camp Lejeune checked into H&S Bn 2nd FSSG promoted to Gunnery Sergeant (E-7). Middle of 99 was transfered to 2nd Medical Bn 2nd FSSG in charge of Utilities section. My section got realined to 8th ESB 2nd FSSG in 2000. Then I retired from 8th ESB in 2002.
