About Me	First I taught high school biology but thought I would enjoy college teaching more. While in graduate school my research was on ringtailed lemur communication and that started a life of research on their social behavior and ecology. I wasn't able to get a college teaching job while we lived in Hays, Kansas but worked as a librarian in the Hays Public Library for 19 years. We raised our children there. I kept the research in Madagascar going, returning every other year since 1998. When we retired to Oregon in 2004, I was finally able to teach a college course as an adjunct. Amaz...(read more)
