About	Jill Renee Gibson, 41, of 315 Circle Dr., Walford, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from complications of a brain aneurysm. Services were 1 p.m. March 4 at First Lutheran Church, 1000 3rd Ave. SE by the Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum. Burial was at Linwood Cemetery. A visitation was held Tuesday at Teahen Chapel-Walford. Friends also visited at the church on Wednesday. Survivors include her husband, Brian, and son Alex of Walford; mother Becky Karr and father David Karr, both of Cedar Rapids; sister Robyn (Dennis) Whiting of Cedar Rapids; mother-in-law Joan Gibson and sister-in-law Cathy (Gary) Cohn, all of West Branch; nieces and nephews Ryan Hagenow, currently serving in Iraq (fiancé Megan Wilcox) and Kylie Hagenow of Cedar Rapids, Matt Chinander and Sarah Cohn of West Branch; and her dog Nitro. Her father-in-law, Dean Gibson, and her maternal and paternal grandparents preceded Jill in death. Jill Renee Gibson was born June 2, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of David and Rebecca Hahn Karr. She married Brian Gibson on Sept. 17, 1994, in Cedar Rapids. Jill graduated from Jefferson High School in 1986 and Capri College of Cosmetology. She was a hair stylist at Becky’s, alongside her mother, for 22 years. Jill was an outgoing, fun-loving girl, and a joy to everyone she touched. She enjoyed golfing, camping, boating, snowmobiling and spending time with her family and friends. Jill also loved cooking, entertaining and taking care of her home. Her son, Alex, was the center of her universe. Above all, Jill loved spending time with him, attending his soccer games, show choir performances and his many other activities. As loving as Jill was, she donated her organs to give others the gift of life.
