About	Melissa Ann Sheetz, 43, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Survivors include her husband, Michael, and two boys, Layne and Landon, all of Cedar Rapids; her parents, Jim and Lillian Jensen of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Michele Land of Cedar Rapids and Jennifer Jensen of Lincoln, Neb.; and two brothers, Jon Jensen of Lincoln, Neb., and Jamie Jensen of Portland, Ore. Melissa had a special place in her heart for all her nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father, James Usher. Melissa was born July 20, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, to James Eugene and Lillian Harter Usher. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1978 and worked as school director at Capri College. She married Michael Max Sheetz on April 21, 1979, in Cedar Rapids. She was an active member of Cedar Hills Community Church, where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed watching her two boys in music, drama and sports activities. Melissa also loved family activities, walking and reading. She always stressed doing the best at whatever you are doing.
