About Me	Loving life in the Valley with my wife and a one-eyed cat. Still playing the trombone and I am the President of the Clarke County Community Band. Play, at times, in a brass quintet as well. Margie Hoffman, Mr. Hoffman's ex-wife, used to play in the community band and we still converse. Retired after 39 years with the US Army Corps of Engineers, first at Fort Belvoir/Fort Myer and later in Winchester. Supported our troops and our foreign policy and initiatives overseas. Got to travel a lot. Worked for over 10 years as a volunteer at Channels 53 and 56 in Northern Virginia-primarily helping with their basketball, hockey and other sports telecasts during the many pledge breaks. My wife is a board certified orthodontist from West Virginia. She was a professor at WVU and University of Georgia and was a visiting professor at Vanderbilt University. She also plays clarinet in the band, as well as plays in a dixieland group. We both also play at the Front Royal American Legion Community Band. No kids, but plenty of squirrels, birds, opossums, skunks, groundhogs, etc, as I own a 1-1/2 acre of wildlife area in Winchester. Snakes too-been bitten twice by a copperhead.
